The Perfect Holiday || Rosalie, Elijah and Alex

Her heart was pounding. “Yes, we had. As in… the past.” Rosalie replied, putting an emphasis on the last word. She closed her eyes and took a deep, purifying breath, trying to recover what’s left of her equilibrium. No man has ever affected her the way both of them had, and she cannot fathom why. Is it because of their looks? Their civility? She didn’t understand her irrational reaction. She breathed an enormous sigh of relief. What in heaven’s name was that all about? Looking back to Elijah, Rosalie nodded. “Yes, it would be fantastic to walk it through with you, too, Elijah.” Smiling innocently at Alexander and sending him a sideways look, Rosalie bit her lips. It was hard to keep her patience with both of them there and they were obvious irritated by this unexpected surprise. Now, they were fighting with dry and sarcastic remarks.

Having superhuman hearing, as all vampires do, Alexander naturally picked up on that whisper exchanged between the lovebirds, causing him to narrow his eyes towards Elijah. Naturally, feeling threatened, he would try to make Rosalie see Alexander as the enemy here, while he felt he had every right to express what he was feeling — which was a great longing for a woman he had never ceased to love for hundreds of years. “It’s a lovely abode.” Alexander commented dryly. “I’m sure Rosalie would love to fill you in about all the adventures we had there, am I right, Rosalie?” He asked, grinning charmingly, hiding that smug look on his face fairly well. They seemed to be a very civil couple, reminding him of the way he and Rosalie were when they’d first met — though the passion between the two of them was through the roof, fireworks as some would say. Elijah and Rosalie were a mere flickering flame compared to what they had.

It’s a lovely abode. “Well, I won’t be surprised since this home brought up such exquisiteness.” He said, his eyes still with Rosalie, then shifted the gaze briefly to Alexander, ”Wouldn’t you agree?” Still with his arm remaining around the lady’s shoulder he said, “Oh, I cannot wait to be filled in. I’d love to hear about these adventures. I enjoy digging out the mysteries of Rosalie Salvatore’s past, since we’re both quite fond of the old times.” True enough. Every surprise that the lady seems to reveal day by day never cease to amuse him. The fact that he is learning more and more about her everyday made him feel fortunate.

The Perfect Holiday || Rosalie, Elijah and Alex

Bowing her head, Rosalie greeted him by saying: “Alexander. I thought you changed your mind.” she had her mother’s manners and back in 1864 curtsied to any number of people including; her grandparents, her uncle and her father. “Thank you, my love,” she replied as Elijah pulled the chair for her to seat. “Yes, Alex… Today we’d like to visit some historical buildings.” Or I’d rather say my family’s mansion. She kept rolling her lapis lazuli ring round her finger, it was a sign that she felt quite uncomfortable with this situation. Memories of her past with Alexander haunted her mind. He pursued her, chasing her through chambers and down the shadowy corridors of the Salvatore mansion, catching a glimpse of pale skin and dark hair, or the movement of a skirt whisking round a corner. Finally, she was cornered, panting, in one of the chambers. Then memories of her and Elijah’s trip to London. The druid’s words. Their confession. Going back to reality, Rosalie smiled taking the menu list as she decided to drink a cup of green tea.

The flatness in Elijah’s tone made it all the more obvious to Alexander — he wasn’t stupid. As a matter of fact, reading people was probably one of his best skills. It was rather clear to him that Rosalie’s suitor felt threatened by his presence and the history he shared with her. Alexander saw that to be justified — he should be scared because he didn’t intend to let the love of his life slip through his fingers so easily. No — in fact, he had already arranged to travel back to Mystic Falls after the happy couple were to leave Italy. “Changed my mind? How could I possibly pass up being in your presence once again?” He voiced, a charming grin plastered across his face. “Hmm, historical buildings? Enough of those here, right?” He chuckled. “Planning to visit the ole home too, I’m sure?” The vampire took a menu in hand, skimming it apathetically. “We had a lot of fun there, didn’t we?”

“I told you, he was looking forward to this.” He softly whispered at Rosalie’s ear, then flashed a small grin towards the man. Then he ran his eyes along the menu as Rosalie did, distracting himself despite the obvious uneasiness of the lady by his side. He chose not to say anything, even to the oozing confidence of the man sitting across them. Elijah knew he couldn’t possibly match such love that Rosalie and Alexander possibly shared before the monstrosity parted their ways, but it doesn’t mean he’d give up on what he is currently having with the lady, and the moments that he was looking forward to share with her. “It would be interesting to see your old home, Rosalie. If you wanted a trip down to memory lane, I’d be very much enthralled to walk it through with you, hmm?” He said, with a slight tilt of his head, holding his hair in place as the summery breeze attempted to dishevel the strands.

The Perfect Holiday || Rosalie, Elijah and Alex

Love. Did I even really know what that meant now? Had I ever really known? Time usually pass fast, we can only measure by remembering what cause some impact during the course of life, taking notes or living the past. After all the up and downs, tears and laughes, they were both having a mature relationship. And now everything had to change because of Alexander… She wasn’t seeing him as a third wheel. “Just give me ten minutes to change into something proper for a brunch,” Rosalie said and kissed him on the cheek. She changed into a vanilla cream dress - a perfect choice for the Italian scenery. Then they left the room and took the elevator to the reception and then to the restaurant. The view was extraordinary and Rosalie loved it. For the other humans they looked like a happy and normal couple, not as vampires.

Alexander had been looking forward to this brunch, his long lost love, Rosalie had invited him to join. Though he knew she would probably be bringing that vermin that had managed to capture her heart, he was not quite disheartened yet. From one of their previous, brief conversations he could tell that the youngest Salvatore was already beginning to feel conflicted about his reappearance which could only mean one thing: The spark was still there — as much as Rosalie would like to deny it and mask it by being slightly rude and passive aggressive towards him. The vampire had taken the liberty to arrive early, taking a seat at a table for three. It hardly took fifteen minutes of sitting around before he caught sight of Rosalie — looking radiant as ever. He arose from his seat, a wide grin spreading across his face. “Good afternoon.” He greeted politely, hiding a scowl when his eyes panned over to meet Elijah’s gaze. “Rosalie, always a pleasure.” He winked, and then rested his gaze on Elijah again. “Elijah.” He said in a stark manner, giving him a nod before sliding down back into his seat. “So — enjoying the great Firenze I hope?”

Elijah smiled softly at the her kiss on his cheek, regrettably letting her go and give her that moment to prepare herself for the brunch. Now that he had a moment to himself, thoughts ran uncontrollably through his head. Alexander. Given a choice, he would just take Rosalie away from there, and just forget about the moment that he met this bumptious bastard, before he grow such urge to rip the man’s heart out of his chest. But then as Rosalie walked in with a well lit-up overall guise, he felt quite assured. He is the one that Rosalie loved. He is the one that makes the lady happy. As they arrived in the restaurant, he nodded politely at the vampire who impressively arrived early. “Alexander.” He greeted in a flat tone, yet still with a small smile on his face. He turned to Rosalie, pulling the chair for her to seat, before he sat comfortably himself. “It has been quite promising so far, isn’t it, my love?” He asked, focusing his gaze on Rosalie’s blue gems, the only thing that keeps him calm at that moment.
